Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay thai fighter, mixed martial artist who currently competes at the UFC flyweight division. She is the younger sister of her fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as a Muay Thai boxer. She debuted in 2003, at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won the tournament and defeated Suzane Mill in the finals via a majority verdict. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007 and a medal of bronze in 2008, and she won a gold medal in the year 2011. In addition, she was named IFMA Amateur World Muaythai Champ in the year 2016. Antonia's professional career began in 2003. In 2012, she was the winner of in the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship as well as in the year 2016 she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's latest fight came against Isa Tsidblad Keskikangas, who was a participant at Phoenix Fighting Championship. She took the fight by the unanimous verdict. Antonina shevchenko won her first professional MMA fight in 2002 against Anara bayanova at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She was able to win in the second round of a TKO fight. She also won the following two games during the WXF: X-Impact World Championships which resulted in the record being 3-0. Shevchenko put on a pause from MMA in order to focus on her kickboxing, and she came back against Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa in a unanimously-decided match, followed by a win over Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She left the club and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina knocked out Nievera using her impressive striking ability in the clinch by her knees against her body. After this win, Antonina was able to sign a UFC contract. Antonina made her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took the win by unanimous decision, but she lost her subsequent fight to Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision. Antonina bounced back from the loss and defeated Lucie Pudilova during UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke. She was also awarded the fight of the evening bonus during the fight. Shevchenko lost to Katlyn Cookagian, but she beat Ariane Lipski's three fights. Antonina last week lost via TKO in the second round against Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
